Truly Posh

There came a time in my life, a stage perhaps, when Posh was a way of life. My hair, dare I say, was "posh". I accessorized poshly. I wore heels to the grocery store. Posh, not slutty! I even read biographies and autobiographies of Posh herself.

It was a stage I'm telling you! This was right after my wedding and hubby gave me the green light to chop off my Rapunzel length locks.

My hair had since grown (and then sadly, chopped off again after childbirth hormones kicked in), the accessories have narrowed down to maybe a pair of earrings, but always my wedding rings & donated the books to Goodwill. I know there's someone else out there who can use a good lesson is poshness. And heels(?) - HA! Only if it's boot season! Seasons change, people change. (Did anyone else hear that? Was that Expose singing in the background? "It's been so long since I found you, but it feels like yesterday-yay...")

One thing I'm not giving up however, are my Posh Berries! They entered our lives almost a year ago and we're not loosening the ties between us. Who dares come between me and those succelent, juicy, oh-so sweet strawberries, decked out in its multi-flavored chocolate garb? Not anyone who knows me well, that's for sure! And I'm not being overly picky or spoiled, but no other, so-called, chocolate covered strawberry can compare to Posh Berries & Confections. Their design has actual style. Their toppings are countless, and they offer so many different flavors of chocolate in a variety of colors. My fave, thus far, was their Easter collection. Too adorable, makes you squeel like a giddy teenage girl, cute!!

I had the awesome opportunity to photograph their deliciousness & design their virtual flyers. Here are a few... and please, I'm warning you now... these images may solicit uncontrollable drooling (or in the words of our close friend, "drueling").

The following image contains their prices for this year's Valentine's Day Collection.
These prices are subject to change for future collections.
Plus, there are much more toppings than listed below. Have a fave topping?
Let them know and they'll specialize your order!

The taste, the style, the price... they can't be beat! Plus, their strawberries come from our local farmer in our city and are picked fresh every morning for their orders, made specificially the same day (and delivered the same day as well). And I know first hand, that these are individually made with love and care! Mrs. Posh Berries herself is jsut that type of person! I can't wait for the day when we can do a shoot together!

If you're interested, and I know you are, you've drooled on your keyboard without you knowing it, give them a ring-a-ding-ding @ 909-631-3671 or email them at poshberries@live.com and they'll be more than happy to chat with you. That's just the way they roll!

~ Cheers!

{Maternity Glow} ~ Mistica

Can this be at all fair? How can anyone be this stunning while in her third trimester. She rivals any celebrity and, in my opinion, beats any of them in the fiercly fabulous corner. Excuse me for my little hint of resentment... I know, it's not a good trait. It's downright dirty. But really??? I was, well, a WHALE OF A TALE. Gi-normous!! They said it would be "all baby." YEAH! RIGHT! Without further adieu, here she is:

Told you.... Absolutely stunning! Watch out world! Their baby girl is coming & if she's anything like her Mama... well... let's just say, "Sorry Dad!"
I GOT IT FROM MY MAMA!! (yup... I did it... I threw it in there!)

Giving Thanks

Hebrews 12:28

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,”

There are so many kinds of ways, so many loved ones, and things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and everyday. Like yours, my list of things to be grateful for is long and full.
I'll illustrate most of my thankfulness in photos because
"pictures are worth more than a thousand words."

I'm thankful for the awesome wonders of our Almighty Father and His gift of salvation to us through the blood of my Savior, Lord Jesus Christ....

I'm thankful for my little family and the joy they bring to me daily....

I'm thankful for my daughter, Aly and her ability to make my heart grow....

I'm thankful for the blessing of a loving & caring family...

I'm thankful for the joy and tenderness of parenting....

I'm thankful for the unconditional love of pets...

I'm thankful for the most well-behaved, loyal, handsome and adorable dogs, Honey & Apache...

I'm thankful for the love and support of my girls...

I'm thankful for my God-loving parents, Papa & Mommy...

I'm thankful for the never-ending camaraderie and unquestionable friendship from my
brother, Miggy, &sister, Jolina....

I'm thankful for the Lakers...

I'm thankful for the men and women serving our country overseas and at home...

I'm thankful for a friendship withstanding the test of time...

I'm thankful for unsuspecting sunsets...

I'm thankful for the gift of trees...

I'm thankful for the miracle of pregnancy and the enrapturement of the entire experience...

I am thankful for the feeling as a proud parent during Aly's photo shoot and her winning a trip to fabulous NYC...

I am thankful for my leisure time while absorbed in Twilight-Land,
rooting for Team Edward with poms poms and all...

I'm thankful for boots and the warmth and comfort they bring, all while "making-the-outfit"...

And last, but definitely not least..

I am thankful for my husband, Jorge and the promise we hold dear and sacred in our hearts for one another, our "little family", and our marriage...

Psalm 95:1-6 (KJV)

"O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.

Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.

In his hand are the deep places of the earth: the strength of the hills is his also.

The sea is his, and he made it: and his hands formed the dry land.

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker."

Times Like These

Aly's 1st Birthday Extravaganza

Our hearts couldn't help but melt at the sight of our Princess on her 1st Birthday. As I've mentioned before, where does time go? This life that God created with His very own hands has been passed on to ours and for the past year, she has formed and manifested in to her very own little person. She's a sweetheart through and through and ever so loving with Mama and Daddy. Although, beware of the spunkiness lurking below the surface. We can tell she has a "No-Nonsense" attitude to her and when she matures into a young lady, we're sure we'll be needing stress-reducing meds. We could definitely be wrong because only God knows for sure what lies in each of our paths for the future. By golly, I hope we're wrong because I can never remember when to take my medicine.

And here we are... It's official, our precious small wonder is 1 and although she is still and will always be a bundle of joy, our little bundle now moves via crawling and walking and wiggling and rolling. She's no longer the tiny swaddled newborn who hardly made a sound (or move) and who only cried when hungry. Now, she's found her voice and has her own opinion about things. Of course she doesn't SAY the actual opinion (uh, Hello!), she will sound off if not to her liking. Hmmm... sounds familiar, but can't quite put my finger on it.

And now her celebration is done and what a success it was. Let me share with you exactly how wonderfully magnificent our God is. We prayed for awesome weather, to be able to reserve the park for ourselves, and smooth sailing all the way through. We prayed, He delivered! He is beyond awesome and any child of His can attest to this testimony. Here's how it went down:

The day before was sweltering for supposed Autumn weather. A sweaty 97 degrees in L.A. County (Hacienda Heights to be exact). The day after was another sweat under the collar type of day. Yesterday, brrrrr.... Overcast and Chilly Willy toes. Saturday, the day of the Luau Party, a cool, sunny, with gentle and lightly blown whispers in the wind, 84 degrees. WooWoo!! God is sooooooo Good!!! And since it was perfect weather, we thought we would have to stand our ground and put-up our dukes (not literally) to anyone who wanted to sneak in and take the park away from us. Oh such little faith! Not a soul (or party-planning-parent) to be seen. In case you feel like rolling your eyes and thinking we're out of our minds-selfish people; this park is popular for children's parties. There are streamers, balloons, and dare I say, clowns almost every weekend at this coveted piece of L.A. County property. And since it's a "first come, first serve" type of deal, we needed assurance that this was ours for the taking. So what did any first-time parent do for their 1 year old? Spend the night in the car on the park's parking lot of course. Daddy would do anything for his beauty! Hey.... you would too! Again, oh such little faith!

Small sacrifice because what a success this Luau turned out to be. Fun, food, family and friends. Recipe for a WooWoo time!! A big "shout-out" (yeah, I still have a bit of the 90's in me) to our family and friends who helped out and made this all possible for our 1 year old celebrant. They did such a fantastic job in helping set-up, tear-down, serve and sacrifice their time and $$$ (cha-ching, chedda', dough, etc.) for our little family. Times like these well up tears in my eyes. Yes, I'm a sappy mess!!
